Feijoa sellowiana is an interesting addition to the Patio Orchard Collection. Referred to as the Pineapple Guava, the Feijoa fruit has a unique taste, blending flavours of pineapple, guava, strawberry and lemon. Use the fruit to produce delicious culinary feasts, baked goodies or preserve as jam. The sweet flower petals are a taste sensation in their own right too.

Water deeply regularly expecially during flowering and fruit period, and mulch and soil around the plants to protect the shallow roots. Lack of water will cause fruit to drop.

Soil:

Will grow in a wide variety of well drained soils, fairly salt resistant.

Maintenance:

Moderate regular watering and pruning lightly in summer light after fruit is harvested will encourage new growth and increase yields the following year.
