Thornless Blackberry Chester is a summer fruiting bush consisting of long trailing canes that can reach up to 6 metres in length with sweet, juicy black berries. Unlike many other blackberries, this variety is garden friendly (as well as child and pet friendly) and is non-invasive. Like all of these plants in the Berrylicious range it has been selected for its high-yeilding nature and delicious fruit.

Growing:

Grows best in a sunny position. Planting can be done year round,

weather permitting. Plant depth is critical blackberries have shallow

roots so it is recommended not to plant them too deeply.

Water:

Water regularly, making sure to keep the soil moist.

Soil:

This plant grows best in well drained soil rich in organic matter.

Maintenance:

Blackberries grow best on a trellis structure which keeps the canes

and berries off the ground. Fertiliser should be applied after the plant

begins to grow fresh foliage. If pruned hard immediately after fruiting

the next seasons crop will be improved.
